TSEATR - The Small Room.
The smell of earth after the rain (TSEATR) were thus named as Petrichor was already being used by a metal band. The Duo existed somewhere in suburbia, though the 'small room' was nothing like the profane image that conjures. A soft lit blue space where psychedelic folk music echoed across 4 walls, reflected back through thick arabesque swirls of smoke.
The recordings were all live takes of original ideas (#). Two guitars, two voices and some pedals. Vocal overdubs were added in a similar one take manner and some post production (mainly EQ and a few effects)completed by ADC. Most of this was recorded in what can only be described as Lo-fi by today's standards. 2 cheap condenser microphones into 2 inputs of a Focusrite Scarlett. Much of it was recorded and edited on Audacity freeware, but later Mixed and Mastered By ISI @ Grange Farm Studios.
M, the chatty one, used a Yamaha acoustic into a Marshall AS50D amp with an Electro-harmonix Mel 9 pedal.
B, who is much quieter, used a classical guitar into a 20 Watt Orange Crush amp with a Strymon 'Big Sky' reverb pedal.
